  • 1st International Conference – State, Power and Society

The 1st International Conference - State, Power and Society has the main objective of joining researchers concerned with the debate on historical processes, founded on the dynamics between State, Power and Society through the application of social theories in the analysis of historical contexts. This proposal consists in internationalizing the debate on the importance of theoretical studies in the structuring of empirical research, by shedding light over theoretical/methodological choices in the development of research and emphasizing on the importance of theory, to ground and instrumentalize social analysis. The Conference’s theme will be the development of research on private hegemony apparatus and its influence in the historical construction of the relation between civil society and political society, in observance of Antonio Gramsci’s Amplified State key concept.

The conference is organized by the Research Group State, Power and Society from School of Social Science FGV CPDOC. More details: https://cpdoc.fgv.br/laboratorios/laeps
