Call for Work Presentations & Workshop Proposals


FGV CPDOC invites everyone to participate in the 22nd Conference and to collectively reflect on contemporary Oral History. In accordance with IOHA guidelines, this is a bilingual, English–Spanish event. The Work Presentations are structured around various themes, both traditional and innovative, all of them related to Oral History, including:


  • Oral history and digital humanities;
  • Narratives in recorded interviews;
  • Oral history and politics;
  • Oral history and education;
  • Oral history, public health, and pandemics;
  • Oral history, minorities, and social movements;
  • Oral history, gender, and sexualities;
  • Oral history, migrations, and inequalities;
  • Oral history and indigenous and Afro-diasporic communities;
  • Oral history, arts, performances, and sports;
  • Oral history and interdisciplinarities;


Submission instructions


There are three types of submission: 1. Paper; 2. Poster; 3. Video or audiovisual product. Read the instructions below before submitting your proposal or its summary.

Please note that each proponent may submit a paper, poster, or audiovisual presentation by individual submission or, if necessary, co-authorship.


- To propose a paper or poster: you must submit a summary of up to 300 words and a minibio of up to 50 words through the Link. Select a proposal type (paper or poster) and indicate one of the themes in the above list for your proposal. Indicate the language in which you will display it (English or Spanish) and three to five keywords.


- To propose an audiovisual presentation: submit a Summary of up to 300 words and a minibio of up to 50 words via Link. Choose three to five keywords. You must indicate aspects of the format and content of the work to be exhibited and give information on technical-formal aspects of the audiovisual product. Next to the description, send an access link to the material for display.


Call for Workshops Proposal


- The 22nd Conference receives proposals of workshops from the international community. This is a special occasion for participants from around the world to learn and exchange information and ideas. Individual or collective propositions may be presented and submitted via Link, containing the following information: A. Workshop title; B. Objective and description (up to 300 words); C. Target audience and expected number of participants; D. Name, contact, and brief biography (up to 50 words) of the proponents;



Registration and payment


All presenters of work papers, posters, and audiovisual products (authors and co-authors), as well as proponents and workshop participants must register at the XXII IOHA Conference. Payment can be made from December 15, 2022, in the event website after selected proposals are disclosed.
