  • FGV EMAp 15 Years: Multidisciplinarity in Mathematics and Data Science (EMAp 15 years)

    FGV EMAp 15 Years: Multidisciplinarity in Applied Mathematics and Data Science will take place from November 9 to 13, 2026, in Rio de Janeiro, as one of the activities marking the 15th anniversary of the School of Applied Mathematics at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EMAp).

    The event will bring together Brazilian and international researchers, students, alumni, and professionals to celebrate FGV EMAp’s trajectory and discuss advances and challenges in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science. The program will cover the School’s main research areas, including Optimal Control and Optimization, Finance and Risk, Differential Equations and Stochastic Systems, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Quantitative Methods in Epidemiology and Health and Statistics.

    Over five days, the program will feature plenary lectures, minisymposia with Brazilian and international researchers, roundtable discussions with FGV EMAp alumni currently working in academia and industry, as well as poster presentations by students from the School. The program is designed to foster exchange across different fields and bring together researchers at different stages of their careers, creating opportunities to present research, discuss ideas, and develop new collaborations.
